Joy of Giving Week at IIMA kicks off with a nature walk

Prakriti – The Nature Club of IIMA organized a nature walk on Sunday, as part of the Joy of Giving Week being celebrated at IIMA, to observe and appreciate the beauty of flora and fauna in the campus with an emphasis on birds. With this nature walk Prakriti also welcomed the exchange students and invited them to experience this aspect of IIMA life as well.

The team which went for the nature walk

The two-hour long sojourn saw the group, which included exchange students as well, spot a couple of majestic White-rumped vultures, a critically endangered species, a female comb-duck (with 3 ducklings in tow, just like in the kids’ stories!), Black Ibis, Green bee-eater, Red vented Bulbul, Indian Robin to name a few. The group called its quiet, early-morning walk to a close with a look at a few Black Kites and the ever-present Rose-ringed Parakeets. The group parted with the satisfaction of a morning well spent and calls for more such walks in and outside the campus.
